Wyoming Pond and Pines

oil on artist panel 6x6 inches
SOLD
I should have taken more photos in Wyoming... after looking through what I took, I realize now that I don't have too many that are good enough to paint from.  I didn't want to be a selfish pain and yell out every five minutes, "Stop the car!" so I could get some good shots... it was a family vacation after all, and not a painting resource trip for me... Oh well, I'll just have to go back...!  ;^)

This was taken while driving with our friends on the way to Mt. Rushmore (which is in South Dakota — about 2 1/2 hours from where we were staying in Wyoming) — we went through some beautiful country on that drive.

  3. Lovely painting, beautiful sense of light and space. You have a great eye for simplifying details, Rebecca. (I'm the same way on road trips, I must bite my tongue sometimes to NOT yell PHOTO OPP!! STOP THE CAR!!)

  4. Thank you so much Diane -- I appreciate your comments (and compliment!). It was hard to see all the "possible future paintings" fly by my passenger-side window when we were driving out west -- it is such beautiful country!!

  5. That's a beautiful painting. I can't tell you how I abuse my poor husband while we're driving. I even ask him to turn around =:-o
